Different Shades of Lightsabers

There are many different types of jedi. Not all of them are the same. They are classified by their lightsaber.

The Purple Lightsaber :

The purple lightsaber is given to second in command to the jedi council. Not just anyone can wield them. Mace Windu is the only jedi seen in the cartoons and movies that wield a purple lightsaber. The second in command doesn't usually go out like a general. They usually only go out as a diplomat for dangerous missions.

The Blue lightsaber :

The blue lightsaber represents the color of the jedi knights or jedi who specialize in fighting with lightsabers. Jedi like Anakin Skywalker and Obiwan Kenobi are full time generals who usually go and fight. Other jedi who are not jedi knights can also wield a blue lightsaber because of their sword fighting prowess.





The Yellow lightsaber:

Yellow lightsabers are only for the jedi sentinels. jedi sworn to protect the jedi temple. They are sanctioned there till death and they never go out as generals for any reason. The only jedi sentinel seen in the cartoons that we know is the inquisitor shown in the first season of Star Wars Rebels.




The Green lightsaber:

The green lightsaber is a two way streak. It is for many padwan as well as jedi who specialize in force wielding like Ashoka Tano, Kit Fisto, and Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars II.









The Grey lightsaber:

 The grey lightsaber isn't given or found. It is a lightsaber formulated by the force of the jedi. These jedi are classified as fallen or rogue jedi. It is not something that jedi would want.
